Audible Wednesday – Every Wednesday @ Characters
Audible Wednesday is a creation of a collective of individuals that go against the masses. Playing the best of everything from hip hop, trip hop, soul, funk, latin, bossanova, brazillian, reggae, downtempo, midtempo, uptempo, broken beat, disco, soulful house, boogie, afro-beat, breakbeat, dance, and nujazz, you’ll be taken on groove schemes that will eventually lead to an array of music of infinite soundscapes where saturation like “TOP 40″ or “RADIO MUSIC” will never exist in a stereophonic, electic atmosphere. Brought to you weekly by DJ Concise/Erok/MichelleQ/JustPudge and special guests.
These next couple of weeks all benefits from Audible Wednesday will go to the American Red Cross efforts for the Typhoon victim’s of Southeast Asia. Please come by support with money donations and enjoy good music.
Da ill Spot
Da Ill Spot is all about providing good live music to the ears of those in attendance every third Friday. In Hiphop we trust, however it is not limited to just that. We also provide funk, soul, and rock amongst other genres. This month on October 16, it’s an honor to have Trek Life, a veteran MC , on Timeless Records. BP& Odds performing new songs from their upcoming album, The Medium, which features El Da Sensei and Insight. It drops on October 16,2009. We also have L. Scatterbrain, a veteran of Foundation Funkollective. Hailing from Covina, Poetik Prophets will also be in attendance dropping gems off of several of their releases. All of these artists have been very active on the Los Angeles Hiphop scene for a long time . Doors open at 9pm. Open admission, we are suggesting a $5 donation. So come on down to Character’s Sports Bar in Pomona and enjoy some dope Hiphop!

**Who are the Sinner Sinners?**
Both incurably somber and bright, the vision of “Sinner Sinners” has
all it takes to seduce fans of violent, tormented rock, while staying
accessible and radio-friendly. The band’s music, somewhere between
punk rock and Goth, is ideal for setting the mood if one sleeps in a
coffin (a rarity since the death of Bela Lugosi…), but also fits in
perfectly in a rock club scene (a little less rare), but is also
perfect to get your blood pumping before a night out…under a full
moon (even less rare, check your calendar for the exact dates). Formed
by what one would say is the ultimate fan of The Damned, The Misfits,
and The Stooges, Steve Thill, singer/guitarist and his wife (Sam, keys
and vocals) and an array of backing musicians, “Sinner Sinners” offers
the ideal mix of hard punk, gothic rock and cold-wave catchiness. His
voice? DEEP – as if groaning out of a tomb, the guitars are simplicity
perfected, the backing vocals are immediately catchy, the keys are
suave, and the rhythm sections just keeps going, and going, and going.
Draped in black, this proud french group (soon leaving for L.A)
produce hit after hit that could soon make “S” stand for “Success”.
