podcast blast off!

iTNAiGOiStonesiKN

so with the EVERYONE owning an iPod/iPhone, a lot of people use the podcast as a source for new music, news, information, etc…  it’s one of those things you do when you open up iTunes, you check for your newest updates.  just thought I would share with you some of my favorite music podcasts out there in the millions upon millions of podcasts.

iTNA The Noise Academy (TNA) click on icon to open link to podcast: So yes I am being totally biased on this one, but regardless of my affiliation with TNA, this is still a good podcast.  It consists of weekly updates with eclectic styles from each resident and featured DJ.  “The Practice Room” with Jason Mixed, is an uptempo version of a house/techno club with the best in electronica.  “Forward Listening” with Frank(E) is a block of the old Corner Store Radio.  A musical experience that always has me jotting down what new cuts to look up that are new/old and local/world wide.  “Music I Love” with DJ Giant Squid is a soul/jazz/funk journey that lets you close your eyes and relax.

iGO LIVE! @ GO! click on the icon to open link to podcast: First started off at the Plush Lounge in downtown Fullerton, the Beathackerz Kollectiv have been throwing down tunes since 2006.  The “musical excursion” will take you on a trip around the world with the best of “whatever genre” and back again.  You can hear the podcast live at the Continental Room in Fullerton here 1st and 3rd Tuesday.  website here.

iStones Stonesthrow Podcast click on the icon to open link to podcast: From the world famous Stonesthrow record label, you’ve got their weekly podcast.  You’ve got mixes by PBW/Madlib, Performances from Mayor Hawthorne/Yesterday’s New Quintet, and tributes to legends like J.Dilla/A Tribe Called Quest.  If you love underground hiphop, you have to have this.  website here.

iKN Kevin Nottingham: Argueably the best site for hiphop, and I mean any kind of hiphop; mainstream, underground, new, old, released and unreleased.  If you need info, they’ve got it.  I cannot say enough with out filling up the screen about this site.  website here.

hope you enjoy the suggestions.  late!

Los Angeles Lakers are 2009 Champions!

So unless you were sitting under a rock you would have heard the Lakers are NBA champions now. Number 15 in franchise history. #10 For coach phil Jackson #4 for Kobe Bryant, #1 for Odom and gasol. #1 for kobe without shaq.

and the best is on Shaq’s twitter: “Congratualtions kobe, u deserve it. You played great . Enjoy it my man enjoy it. And I know what yur sayin rt now ‘Shaq how my ass taste ‘”

I never said I was a role model.

For those of you in the know, I had wanted to be an architect growing up. That was all the way up until college, when I found out exactly how much time, sweat, and tears it took to make it in the biz. Haha.

I’ve become a graphic designer since then, but that hasn’t stopped me from following it as a hobby. Here’s a site I stumbled onto: http://www.wallpaper.com/architecture/interactive-floorplan-los-andes-house/3265

It’s predominantly modern architecture. A lot of concrete and steel/wood constructs that play with space and materials and all of that fancy BS that architects like to throw around. What isn’t BS is how awesome some of them look. Most of them manage to make a house made out of the same material as parking garages warm and inviting. You can imagine yourself living in them.

Still, they’re not for every one; but pick up your coffee, put on your beret and monocle, and check it out anyway!
